Missions, Missions, Missions!

Grace Café: Help us serve a warm meal to the homeless. A few times a year, Ardmore UMC has been sending a team of volunteers to prepare & serve a hot meal to the needy at Grace Cafe. Grace Café is a restaurant style community meal and ministry of Arch Street UMC, serving 200-275 meals each Sunday evening with our neighbors experiencing food insecurity and homelessness. Please consider being a part of this rewarding mission. Click here for an example of what we need.

Mid-Town Parish in North Philadelphia: As you may recall, when the UMC of Bala Cynwyd merged with Ardmore several years ago our District Superintendent challenged us to give significantly to Mission as a new “united” congregation. As a result, a substantial gift was given to Mid-Town Parish. The goal was to help them reestablish their worship space by helping them purchase a new building. After of years of effort they have finally begun to use the new building for worship. Praise God! We just received the invitation below for their Ribbon Cutting Service.  If anyone is able to attend and represent Ardmore that would be wonderful. Please keep Mid-Town in your prayers and we hope to get a praised report from them in our worship sometime soon.

Adopt a Family: A local single mom has reached out to us for support. She is two months behind her rent and electric bill, and needs food and clothes for her three children. Click here for details about how we can help.

Methodist Home for Children: During the month of November and continuing through Sunday, December 1st, Friends in Faith will be collecting gift cards for the Methodist Home for Children. The home would appreciate these gift cards to be valued at $10 or $20 and should be purchased for use at Target, K-Mart, Wal-Mart or Best Buy.  Also, cash donations to be used for holiday meals are welcome.  Help us ensure that these children are not forgotten during this holiday season. Jo Hopkins will be available in the Narthex to sell cards and take donations after the service.

St. Mark’s Food Bank: We will continue to collect food donations for St. Mark’s in Broomall.  Please ensure that any food item has a future expiration date as the Food Bank cannot accept items with expired dates.

Rose window and chancel accent lighting

The accent lighting in the chancel area of our sanctuary is in need of some much needed improvement. Also, the time has come to upgrade the exterior accent lighting on the Rose Window. This total project is envisioned to help us have a better worship experience. We are excited about this accent lighting project and we will invite your participation and giving.Click here for more information.

Wifi Hot Spot

We have set up a Wifi “hotspot” in the sanctuary, should you want or need the internet while you are at church. There is a unit in the Sanctuary, Wesley Room and Bailey Hall. The network and password are on the front of the white box plugged into the wall somewhere in each space. For the sanctuary, it is located on the right hand side as you are looking at the altar, toward the front. Please be respectful of this service.

Conference Board of Ordained Ministry

Pastor Tim is now on the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry. His responsibilities include review and evaluate of candidates for Ordained Ministry in the United Methodist Church. Please continue to pray for Pastor Tim in this role, as well as all who follow their call into ministry.

Tables for Eight
If you missed the previous series of "Tables for Eight" dinners, please keep an eye out for announcements for the next series. The "Tables for Eight" program places interested adult members of the congregation into groups of eight to share in a co-operative dinner. This program is open to couples, singles, or simply two friends who wish to sign-up together. The groups of eight will be different for each dinner. The dinner will take place in the home of someone who has offered to serve as a host. This person, or couple, will provide the main dish, rolls and beverage. Others in the group will be assigned to provide a salad, or a side dish, or a dessert.
